The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Let’s Go Fishing Program is hosting its “Fly Fishing A-Z” program at two locations this spring. These weekend-long programs are designed primarily for first-time fly anglers and will cover the key basics including equipment, casting, stream ecology, knot tying, safety, and fish identification. The highlight of this two-day program will be on Sunday, when everyone pulls on waders and heads out to a local fishing pond where students will put their new skills to the test with instructors. Participants must attend both days of the program. All equipment is provided, no fishing license is required to participate, and there is no cost to attend this program.

Preregistration is required, to reserve your spot register online at https://nhfishandgame.com/EventWeb/Event/AllEvents?EventTypeID=161&ClassActivity=19.

Master the basics of fly fishing at one of these locations:

  • NHFG Headquarters, Concord NH “Fly Fishing A-Z” – Saturday May 18 from 8:30am to 4:30pm and Sunday, May 19 from 8:30 am to 12:30pm. Registration is now open at the link above.

  • Coleman State Park, Stewartstown NH “Fly Fishing A-Z” – Saturday, June 1 from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, June 2 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Registration is now open at the link above.

The class is open to anyone age 13 years and older, however those 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Class space is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

For over ten years, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Let’s Go Fishing program has taught thousands of children and adults to be safe, ethical, and successful anglers. The program is federally funded through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department works to conserve, manage, and protect the state’s fish and wildlife and their habitats, as well as providing the public with opportunities to use and appreciate these resources. Visit http://www.FishNH.com to learn more.
