Learn how to reach your bag limit during this fall’s pheasant season at a free seminar with Wes Reed and Scott Rouleau on Thursday, September 27, at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. The talk begins at 7 p.m. No pre-registration is required.

Wes Reed will discuss the value of a retriever for recovering downed game, and the training process required to prepare a dog for the field and a driven pheasant hunt. Scott Rouleau will talk about hunting tactics that incorporate a dog as well as strategies for hunting without canine support, the nature of the bird, essential gear, and where to successfully hunt pheasant in New Hampshire.

Wes Reed is the owner of Rise and Shine Retrievers, a full service retriever training facility located in Center Barnstead. He also breeds Labrador and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Whether hunting or running retriever hunt tests, Reed can be seen with his dogs in the woods and waters around New England year round. He is very active with the Granite State Hunting Retriever Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire.

Scott Rouleau is the owner of Farview Farm and New England Upland Shooting Preserve in Hillsborough NH, is the President of the Pheasants Forever New England Chapter, is on the board of NH’s Operation Game Thief, and is a registered New Hampshire hunting guide. When not assisting guests at the farm, Rouleau can be found running his Llewelyn setters, working on habitat improvement for grouse, woodcock, and wild turkeys, and enjoying the Lake Sunapee region with family and friends.
