As fall fishing starts getting underway, some map work needs to be done for preparation for the coming ice season. As you start locating schools of fish, make sure to mark those on your smartphone apps. This way, when first ice comes, you will have a good idea where to start and save you sometime in drilling holes and more time catching fish.
